When she’s not teaching, directing, and running her businesses, she is involved in many community projects, such as being a committee member of the Tennessee Kids Arts Festival and, most importantly, running her family's non-profit "Ray of Light Foundation" in honor of her late son Raymond M. Cruz.

Blandina was distinguished as one of the Williamson County 2022 Philanthropic Heroes and believes the importance of giving back lies in its ability to foster belonging, address social challenges, facilitate personal growth, strengthen community resilience, and inspire future generations. As individuals, we have the opportunity and responsibility to contribute to the betterment of our communities. She finds great joy in collaborating, creating, and working with a team of creative souls to fully realize that the product we create helps everyone in some way.
