Dance Classes
Our dance classes are designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and develop strong technique in a supportive and fun environment. Whether your child is stepping into the studio for the very first time or is an experienced dancer looking to grow, our talented instructors are here to guide them every step of the way.
We offer a variety of styles and levels to fit every age and interest — from learning the basics of movement and rhythm to mastering choreography and performance skills. Students not only gain coordination and strength, but also the joy of expressing themselves through dance.
At The Franklin Playhouse, dance is more than steps — it’s about building friendships, teamwork, and a love for the arts that lasts a lifetime.
Musical Theater / Tap (Ages 8 & Up – Beginners)
This exciting class combines the best of musical theater performance with the foundations of tap dance. Students will explore the world of Broadway by learning choreography, stage movement, and basic acting skills while also building rhythm and coordination through beginner tap technique.
Each week, dancers will practice:

Fundamental tap steps and combinations

Musical theater style movement and storytelling

How to connect acting, singing, and dancing into one performance

Confidence and stage presence
This class is perfect for beginners who want to step into the spotlight and experience the energy of musical theater while gaining a solid introduction to tap.

Class Fees

Dance classes are offered in 13-week sessions.

Tuition is $60 per class, per session (13 weeks).

Payment is due in full at the beginning of the session unless otherwise arranged.
Attendance
-
Classes meet once per week for 13 weeks.

Consistent attendance is important for progress and choreography.
Make-up Classes

If a student must miss a class, notice should be given in advance.

Make-up classes must be completed within the same 13-week session.

Missed classes are non-refundable.
Withdrawals

If a student must withdraw before the end of the session, a 30-day written notice is required.

Tuition for the notice period is still due, and partial refunds are not available once the session begins.
Expectations & Requirements

Students must arrive on time and in proper dance attire.

Required shoes (tap, ballet, jazz, etc.) must be worn depending on class.

Hair should be pulled back neatly off the face.

Students should bring a water bottle and keep belongings in the designated area.
Communication
-
All scheduling and payment questions must go through The Franklin Playhouse office.

Teachers may send choreography notes or videos to support practice at home.
