Nashville Lawnchair Theater, presented by The Franklin Playhouse, brings live musical theatre to the meadow in Centennial Park at the Bandshell. Our shows begin while the sun is still shining  with the magic of twilight settling in as the second act unfolds under the stars.

Reserve your seats in advance to guarantee a great view ticketed seating is limited and sells quickly. Online purchases offer the best pricing; a limited number of tickets may be available at the venue the night of each show (subject to availability and higher on-site pricing). Reserved seating areas are clearly marked in the meadow. General admission walk-up guests are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for our open lawn areas.

Ticket Prices

Summer Season Tickets:

 

For 2025 Summer Season we are offering:

$40.00  2 person Blanket Seating

(1st Section) *Sitting on the blanket flat on the grass.

​

$80.00  4 person Blanket Seating

(1st Section) *Sitting on the blanket flat on the grass.

​

$18.00 Stadium Stadium

(2nd Section) * A stadium chair flat on the grass. No legs on chair.

​

$16.00 General Seating

(3rd Section) *This section allows chairs that you bring with you that have 4 legs.

Day of Show Tickets (At the Gate):

$30.00 ALL SECTIONS LIMITED AVAILIBILITY

Children:

3 and under are free, regular ticket price for all other children.

Blanket Section (Front Row):

  • This area is for guests bringing blankets only. You’ll be sitting directly on the grass—flat on the ground with no chairs of any kind.

 

 Stadium Seating Section (Middle):

  • This section is for stadium-style seats—the kind used on bleachers, with no legs. These can be placed on top of a blanket or directly on the grass but must remain flat to the ground.

 

 General Seating (Back Section):

  • This is for standard lawn chairs with four legs—the kind most people bring from home.

      We recommend this section for anyone who may need more support or may have difficulty getting up from the ground—such as seniors or guests who are  more comfortable with a traditional chair setup.

 

If you’re unsure where to sit, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help! We want everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy the show under the summer sky and evening stars. 

Lawnchair Theater Rain & Lightning Policy

 

At Lawnchair Theater, the show will go on—rain or shine! However, safety is our top priority, and we do have a plan in place in case of severe weather.

 

  • Performances will continue in light rain, so please come prepared with umbrellas, ponchos, or rain jackets.

  • We will only pause the performance in the event of lightning. If lightning is detected, the show will be delayed for 30 minutes from the last lightning strike.

  • During this delay, patrons must seek shelter—either under nearby cover or in their vehicles—until we resume the show.

  • If conditions clear after 30 minutes with no additional lightning, we will resume the show right where we left off.

  • In the rare event that a performance must be fully canceled, we do have a make-up date planned. All ticket holders will be notified with details.

Exchange Policy

  • Ticket exchanges may be made up to 2 days prior to the show date, there is a $5 per each ticket exchange.

  • Tickets may not be exchanged at the gate.

  • No exchanges after the date on the ticket.​

While we finance our productions primarily through ticket sales, we also rely on the financial contributions of generous patrons and supporters. Please consider a donation while purchasing tickets.

We could never continue to put on outstanding performances Under The Stars without your support.  Ticket, concession and chair rental sales account for only 70% what it costs to operate TFP each year.  Contributions cover the difference.  We're committed to keeping our costs down and our ticket prices affordable.  Our 1st year has been introduced to the magic of the community and the performing arts students only because of your support and our studio TFP.
